More book development

Hey everyone! So after several weeks of writing and thumbnailing my book, I'm finally at the stage I've been looking forward to the most - designing the characters and defining a visual style.
This is still very early stages, but I wanted to share what I'm up to and keep you guys in the loop.
Put two characters together and slapped a rough background behind them for a little mood.
Any comments or crits are, as always, more than welcome!

Short story update

A little while ago I started work on a short story based on a Japanese folk tale. I took a step back from what I was doing at the time, and when I came back to it I wasn't happy with the way it was all going - visually or narratively.
So I used the themes I already had and went back to build something that was my own, and that was more autobiographical in a way.

Now that's all nailed down I'm exploring what I can do visually, and I'm much happier.

I think that's possibly the most I've rambled in a post to date ;)
